January 20 - March 3, 2002:
New Works by the Korean Ceramicist Suku (Suck Woo) Park

For the second time the Gallery presents works by the Korean artist Suku Park, who lives and works in Finland. He enjoys a high reputation, both in Europe and Asia, for objects as aesthetically refined and impressive as technically sophisticated. His works are in many important museums and private collections around the world. They reflect the artist's subtle imagination and ability to combine, in his forms and glazes, impressions from the world in which he lives with memories of the great Korean tradition from which he comes to creations of exciting appeal. The pieces to be shown in this exhibition will range from delicate, translucent porcelain bowls of a more ceremonial character to monumental, sculpturally conceived, double-walled vessels. Suku Park's hallmark, and objects which delight in witty, playful invention.
